D Long Lost Blog…
So it’s been just over a year since our last blog, we have had a busy and hectic year, but it’s all been good. Project D is still a very big part of what we do, but… we have now moved on to a bigger scale TOP FUEL TEACHERS!!!
Like we said, things have massively moved forward for us and we are now in a position to offer you many more project cars to talk about… AND… we have revamped our YouTube channel, now posting a video every Friday morning. Due to the changes that we made it seemed no longer appropriate to try and run everything under the Project D banner, Project D is our foundations, our first major achievement and the car that really kick started our whole program. But now we have more ongoing projects, lots more, and we cant really run them under the Project D banner, so welcome to Top Fuel Teachers.
So what has happened in this last year? Big changes at work saw myself get promoted to the position of manager at Rallysport Engineering Academy in Colchester, and this opened up more opportunities for me to be able to offer our students a better experience and give them more exciting cars to work on. We have slowly been gaining the attention of some companies and now can proudly say that we are sponsored by Maxxis tyres and Powermaxed, this is amazing for us and both companies have been remarkable with their support for us so far.
So what about the cars then? Viewers of our YouTube channel will already be aware of most of our fleet, although there are still some that we have not yet announced, and even more cars that are due to arrive soon. So let’s have a quick reminder of the cars that we have already seen…
Project D
Needs no introduction or explaining
Project WRC
A mk1 focus that we turned around in a short 5 months from an abandoned project into a road going replica rally car
Project Primera
A 1998 Nissan primera 2.0gt, a car donated to us that had been parked up in a field for two years, now a road going classic
Project Track Car
A 1.8 mk2 focus that we are building as a track car with a bit more punch, currently undergoing a 3.0 V6 engine transplant
Need for Speed BMW e46 project
Exactly as the title suggests, an e46 bmw that we are turning into a close representation of the e46 m3 gtr from the need for speed video game series
Project Cougar
A 1999 ford cougar with the V6 2.5 engine, we are keeping this as a modern classic example and will only be tidying it up and carrying out maintenance jobs
Max Power mk5 Fiesta
Seen on our channel, currently in storage but definitely not forgotten about, will be a build true to the Max Power era
As you car see, we have plenty going on, but there is still so much more behind the scenes and yet still to come, another three cars already in storage and more arriving, lots of exciting projects for the students to learn on and help build.
