“Although Project D started its new lease of life in November 2020 the thought of something similar came about at the beginning of that year.

When the first Covid lockdown came life changed for all of us in one way or another, I was still able to continue with my alternative education job, but my hobby suffered massively and I was unable to partake in that due to restrictions.

Due to this I needed something else to focus on and channel my energy into, which lead me to start looking at my car, a 2006 Ford Focus ST.

I did some modifications to this and reignited my passion for modifying cars, this lead me to attending two car shows in 2020 when restrictions allowed.

At these shows I met some great people and made some close friends, It also started me thinking, how good it would be to build a budget level show car with my students at work, so I could take it to cars shows and meets and show it off, stating that it had been built with the help of students who do not get on at school, hoping to give them a sense of pride and achievement.

This was where my dream and vision started.”

“Project D has been a massive impact on my life and has guided my future in the most positive way possible. This car put a smile on my face every week and then getting to see it on the weekend car shows was just a dream come true.

Since departing from Project D I have decided to pursue mechanics and surround myself with the car scene.

Thank You Project D for putting a smile on my face during the hardest times and I look forward to seeing it in the future helping other troubled teenagers.”

Shawn

My time at Rallysport has been some of the best training of understanding cars and how they work.

Ade and Jim have been very helpful and easy to get along with, working with Ade and Project D was some of the best work I have done, seeing a car going from a family car to an absolute beast of a machine and asking Ade to take me to prom in it and him saying yes meant the world to me.

The car was perfect, can't believe I got to work on such a car, so thx Ade, it has been the best time of my life thx”

Spencer

“Project D was the chance of a lifetime to work on.

Working alongside Ade and the other students on project D, seeing it at car shows, and promoting Autism Awareness and other difficulties made me feel better in who I was as a person with my own learning difficulties.

I’m so grateful for everything Ade taught me over the time I was at Rallysport.

Project D means the world to me, it made me who I am today and I’ll never forget the skills and knowledge I gained during that time.

Project D wasn’t just built with students, it was built with passion and dreams. That’s what makes it a true icon!”

Frankie

”My experience being at Rally Sport and working on Project D really made me realize what future I could have in the world of mechanics.

I learned so much helping to build Project D it gave me something to look forward to doing on days that I was attending Rally Sport and I learned how to focus on a project and I was determined to get the project finished instead of giving up easily like I usually do with a lot of things, it was a hard challenge but I wanted to carry on because of the joy it gave me and I was excited to see the finished result and I enjoyed watching D come together and enter shows and win trophies, it made me proud that I’d helped build this project.

From this project, I learned so many skills which will I will take with me into my future in the world of mechanics which is my ultimate love in life.

I’m honoured to have been part of Project D it was an amazing experience I’ll never forget”.
