AWARD-WINNING D
So Saturday of this weekend saw us travel the short distance to the Trinity Park in Ipswich Fir the Festival of Wheels show, it was a very wet day and we are sure it kept a lot of people away, with only a few hundred show cars turning up for display.
Overall the event was well run again with plenty of attractions and things to do, it’s just a shame the weather ain’t more kind. We had a go at a racing simulator, let’s just say I am better in the real thing haha, and we also had a go at laser clay pigeon shooting, our friend James set the quickest time of the day in the simulator and won tickets to the BTCC event at Brands Hatch, well done James!
When we got back to the car we noticed a marshal putting something on our windscreen, turns out that our Project D had been chosen for the Best Modified Car award, to say we were a little overwhelmed is an understatement, but also we were feeling massively proud that the car built with students was chosen for this.
The trophy that we were presented with is amazing, and we cant thank the organisers enough for choosing Project D, what made it even more special is that they didn’t even know the story behind our project, and because of the weather we hadn’t even opened our bonnet to show off how good it looks under there, so its another award for us to proudly display at the academy.
This coming weekend we are heading to the Silverstone race circuit for the annual Ford Fair show, we had a great time there last year and are looking forward to it, this year we will be on display on the Fast Ford Magazine stand so hopefully we will get lots of attention, we are hoping to get some good videos for our YouTube from this too, so stay tuned…
In other news, there’s a new car in the academy… its nothing much at the moment but has plenty of potential, check our YouTube to find out what it is and keep up to date with the student’s progress on it…
